Its breeding, in the city of Kobe (Hyogo prefecture in Japan), is strictly controlled to preserve its reputation.
This meat is very tender. It melts in the mouth with a nutty flavor. Therefore, it is one of the national treasures of Japan. Reputed to be the best meat in the world.
